Staunton Area Ambulance Service proudly serves 13,000 people living in an area of 145 square miles. We run 2 ambulances covering 4 fire districts. We provide both Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS). We provide emergency medical service (EMS) 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

• We are dispatched by Macoupin County 911 and Staunton Police Department. Macoupin County 911 dispatches for emergency for the Staunton Fire District and emergeny calls transfered from Madison County's 911 system for Olive, Worden, & New Douglas Fire Districts. Staunton Police Department dispatches non-emegencies and direct calls into the police department.

• Currently our director is Douglas Hausmann, who has served the department for 14 years. We have 6 Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedics, 2 Emergency Medical Technician - Intermediates and 11 Emergency Medical Technician - Basics on staff.
• All of our Paramedics are ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and BTLS (Basic Trauma Life Support) Certified.
• Our Paramedics are either PEPP (Pediatric Education for Pre-Hospital Providers) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certified. Some of our Paramedics have both.
• All of our employees are certified by the American Heart Association in Healthcare Provided CPR
